Car parking options for Hotel Guests
The Western Hotel does not offer car park spaces; however, there is a small underground car park that can be used for the duration of the check-in.
We advise all guests to arrive to our car park first for check in, use the lift to bring luggage straight to your room and then re-park your car to one of the car parks in the city.
Guests checking into CityPoint Apartments are also asked to arrive for their check -in to The Western Hotel. They will be given further instructions at reception.

Arriving from any direction, follow the signs to the City Centre and Eyre Square. Once on Eyre Square, take the road exiting the square at the top right-hand corner at Richardson’s Pub. Proceed onwards on the left lane. Pass TK Maxx, Galway City Council building and The Western Hotel and take the first turn left, then left again into St. Bridget’s Place. Our underground car park is on the left, down the ramp.

2. Outdoor uncovered Car ParkDyke Road (beside the Black Box Theatre) Flat parking rate of €4.00 per day.
3. Pay and display on-street parking.
A pay and display parking ticket must be purchased in advance from a ticket machine on the street that you wish to park on or near. The ticket entitles you to park in the designated parking area on the street for a maximum of 2 hours. The pay and display parking ticket must be clearly displayed / visible on the dashboard of your vehicle. Chargeable Hours are 8.30 to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday (€2 per hr max 2 hr stay). No charge applies between 6:30pm and 8:30am, Sundays and Bank Holidays. Cars are parked at the owners risk. Machines do not give change. Notes are not accepted.

Galway’s train and bus stations are located in the city centre adjacent to each other 5 minutes walk from the Western Hotel. On exiting the station take a left heading towards Eyre Square. Walk to the right of the square passing O’Connell’s bar. At the corner of Richardson’s pub take a right onto Prospect Hill. The Western Hotel is clearly visible from here on your left hand side.
(Galway Airport only handles private flights currently. Galway Airport is located at Carnmore, just 8km north of the city centre).
